This Nitrification unit is the simplest and most economic way of maintaining the correct chemical balance in a pond situation. Placed between the pump and filter system, the passage of water through the unit enables the bacteria present in the nuggets to neutralise ammonia and nitrite converting it to harmless nitrate. When charged with an 80ml pot of Ammonia / Nitrite Nuggets the unit will treat ponds up to 4545 litres (1000 gallons). The nuggets will require replenishing three to four times per year depending on stocking density, flowrate etc. Supplied with glue in hosetails which take 12mm, 20mm, 25mm, 32mm and 40mm (½ inch, ¾ inch, 1 inch, 1¼ inch, and 1½ inch) hose

These nuggets contain a special blend of naturally occurring nitrifying bacteria which remove ammonia or Nitrite, set into a gel matrix. The nuggets contain all the live nitrifying bacteria required to help start filters quickly and control harmful fish waste.
